Grand Canyon

Standing at the rim of the Grand Canyon, at 8000' above sea level, one has an expansive view of a wide sweeping river carved landscape, with layers of canyons, cliffs, and desert. While at over a mile lower, down in the canyon, the Colorado river is slowly continuing the work it has been for millions of years. Working your way down from the rim to the river, you are surrounded by ever changing views and ecosystems.
