Mount Shasta & the Southern Cascades

Stretching downward from British Columbia, the cascades reach their southern terminus in Northern California. A volcanic landscape with its beautiful centerpiece, Mount Shasta. There are few places in northern California that one can go and still be out of range of its watchful gaze, a dominating presence at 14,179', it towers thousands of feet above any other mountain of significance in its field of view. Within its view are found all the hallmarks of the Cascades, picturesque waterfalls, volcanic peaks of all variety, and endless forest wilderness.
